Chronology
On an island rich and poor, teenager John B enlists the help of his three best friends to find a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance. Chase Stokes, Madeleine Klein and their co-stars from “OBX” quiz each other on the best lines from their hit Netflix series. Featured in MsMojo: 10 Best Netflix Original Teen Series (2020) This show is ridiculously unrealistic, but honestly, I don’t care.
But whatever it is, it is not new
It’s clear that this isn’t meant to be the most serious show, so I don’t mind it being completely over the top. The lead actors are very nice to look at and quite good at acting (nothing outstanding, obviously). The actors were definitely too old for the characters they were playing, until Sarah said she was 16, I wasn’t quite sure how old they were.
Edit: After finishing the series, I can’t wait for season 2
Casting age-appropriate actors is very difficult, so I can’t deduct any points for that. I haven’t finished it yet, but so far it’s nice, fast, and fun. It got better with every episode and to be honest, it finally felt like a really high-quality production and a really good lead-in to a potential second season.
Netflix, you did it again!
What impressed me the most was how well the dialogues were written, they were really believable. If you ignore the fact that they don’t look 16, they definitely act like a bunch of 16-year-old idiots.
