The movie was filmed in Independence, Missouri’s historic Independence Square, which in real life looks like this all year round
Chronology
Alana Higman, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and her family compete to win the team’s Fan of the Year award, judged by Director of Fan Engagement Derrick.. Revel in happy endings with this year’s lineup of romantic holiday movies that you can watch from the comfort of your own home..
The square also has holiday lights, just like in the movie
The locations of the Higman family store and Norma and Nick’s BBQ restaurant are also real-life family stores. I’m a UK viewer, so all the excitement and crazy passion for the American football team didn’t reach anyone on this side of the pond.
This movie largely missed the mark
I only watched it because I love watching Tyler Hynes in action. His previous work has always been characterized by cheeky humor with a twinkle in his eye – what girl wouldn’t love that!
His partner Hunter King never really came off as a fool as a romantic lead
His screen time was completely overshadowed by the over the top acting of the most absurd family, and combined with the absurd plot, you get to the point where you’d rather walk on hot coals than sit through the end. Hynes had much better relationships with his co-stars, which was more believable in his previous films.
It was shown that there was no chemistry between the two
Hopefully Hynes will do more films in the same style as It Was Always You – because this film didn’t help him at all.
