We all were someday afraid of the dark. Parents turned off the lamp in your sleeping room, closed the door behind them, when suddenly the imagination began to draw terrible things-someone knocks on the windows, socks turn into snakes, and they strive to crawl off the hordes of monsters … not scary? Of course, we grew up from such an age when some rags were terrified. But the seven -year -old Sebastian, the main character of the platformer My Fear and I, Still panicky is afraid of Potemok. Even adults cannot help the child. His fear came to life in the form of a funny, screaming from any rustle of a creature, which now everywhere accompanies our poor fellow. To defeat his fear, once a gloomy night Sebastian goes towards the unknown, where he will show his companion fear the safety of the surrounding world.

The presence in the game of funny and absurd fear creates a certain discharge in a common oppressive atmosphere. Sebastian spite his companion should overcome obstacles with a pistol with a harpoon and defeat his phobia, studying his own house, avoiding traps and abysses. The surrounding two -dimensional world is not so rich in interactive objects, so often logical problems are solved in a couple of visits. Hints in difficult situations give wall schemes. And no branches from the main path – only strict linearity.
But here is a full disappointment that will overcome adventure fans. The monotonous process is repeated on similar locations with the same monsters in the form of crawling socks. The latter seem funny at the very beginning, but by the end of the game there is a realization that this is the only enemy. Under bright light, a terrible worm turns into an ordinary sock. There is no doubt that the idea is interesting, but I would like diversity.
Sebastian’s horror stories will not be taken away from you and two hours. If you stretch the passage for a couple of sites, then you will not even notice meal backgrounds and repeatability of puzzles. But just not clumsy control. The animation of the characters, although smooth, is responding tightly to our interactions with touchscreen. This drawback is not permissible to the platformer. It is especially difficult in the moments of using a key item – a pistol with a harpoon on the suction cups.
Still, the desire to find out the ending, makes it out of the flaws. The soundtrack gives a special
delight of what is happening. The animated fear of Sebastian is funny and artistic. It is curious what will happen to him at the end? My Fear and I looks attractive and intriguing history. In this sense, the game has huge potential. Perhaps someday developers will want to create another story about Sebastian, but already in the form of a quest or RPG.
My Fear and I Rejoice at its atmosphere. At first, she gives the impression of a demonstrative platformer – with a storyline, non -standard ideas, memorable characters. The authors managed to create something new in a beaten genre. But to perfection, the game did not have enough variety and colors. Yes, and the implementation of the gameplay pumped up – the management, perhaps, is the most naughty among all the last projects, and it will not be compared with the console at all.
