Inspired by true stories and directed by Magnus von Horn, THE GIRL WITH THE NEEDLE follows a young factory worker, Caroline (Vika Carmen Sonne), as she struggles to survive in post-World War I Copenhagen. When she’s unemployed, abandoned and pregnant, she meets Dagmar (Trine Dyrholm), a charismatic woman who runs an underground adoption agency helping mothers find foster homes for their unwanted children. With nowhere else to turn, Karolina takes on the role of a wet nurse. The two women develop a strong bond, but Caroline’s world comes crashing down when she learns the shocking truth behind her work.
