Clown art is about to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully fall asleep on Christmas Eve. Director Damien Leone said that several major studios had expressed interest in financing the film, based on the surprise success of Horror 2 (2022), even without a completed script, but he turned them all down because he’s sure they’ll never release it. He was allowed to film only the opening scene, which he describes as “very controversial.” Leone has commented that the only reason he can be so uncompromising in his portrayal of horror and gore is that he self-finances his films, creates his own special effects to keep costs down, and doesn’t have a major studio breathing down his neck. Mia mentions that the original 5-year massacre is coming up soon, but it was on Halloween, and this film taking place on Christmas 5 years later would mean the anniversary just passed 2 months ago. However, if I’m being honest, none of the kills were on par with Terrifier 2
Overall, I’d say there is more killing and brutality than the second film, but none of the kills (not even the main kill) were as over the top as the second film. Another thing, you can imagine half of the kills because half of them happen off-screen or have already happened before the camera cuts to the scene. This was a huge disappointment as a lot of the “important deaths” had to be shown because they were meant to be emotional. Plot-wise, I think I liked the second movie better because the pacing of this one was a little off. Between the time jumps, the Wall plot, and the art plot, the pacing just wasn’t right.
Overall, I would say Terrorifier 2 was better
It also contributed very little to Sienna’s art or story. It felt like there was a long time between each death. Also, you never develop an emotional connection with any of the characters in this movie except Sienna. Finally, the last 20 minutes really let me down. Almost none of the deaths were shown on screen and trust me, those deaths should have been.
